Singapore, Singapore

We tried to compress everything on the few days that we were in Malaysia.  Our schedule was so tight that it included a trip to Singapore.  From KL Sentral, we took a sleeper train to Singapore.  The train was a noisy one but because we really wanted to go and we were tired, so we slept through.  It was difficult at first but we had to suck it up.  I have a memory of the train smelling of pee although my memory might be wrong.

My memory of Singapore was vague.  Mind you, I am writing from almost 4 years now.  I just started blogging about it cause it's one of my dreams to be a travel blogger.  From the airport, we took a cab that took us to the cable car to Sentosa.  I don't know how it happened but I think my mum asked the cab driver to take us to Sentosa and he took us there.  Armed with the free maps we roamed around Sentosa, searched for the Merlion and went to the man-made beach.  To finish off the trip, we went to Orchard Road and went back to Malaysia.  Our trip was short but we were happy for the experience.  That's 2 countries in one trip!

Genting Highlands, Malaysia

When we first visited Malaysia, we didn't have a plan nor enough budget.  We were supposed to take my brother JR with us but he wanted to spend more time with his girlfriend then(ex now, bad choice).  My cousins Lorraine and Jet went with us as per Tita Lorna's wishes.  It was their first time spending Christmas without their mum.  Genting must be Lorraine and I's idea.  Noone on the group was as proactive as us.  :P  As I've mentioned earlier, we didn't have money so enjoying the themed park was out of the question.  We just took nonstop photos, we enjoyed the view and the temperature nonetheless.

Direction to Genting Highlands:

Take the bus to Genting from KL Sentral until bus stop and take the Genting Skyway from there.

Fact:

Genting Highland is a combination of Casino and themed park.  Fun for both adults and the kids.

Petronas Tower, KL Malaysia

Outside the Petronas Tower
During our tour.  We were only given 10 minutes to take photos.  It was a very fast moving tour.
View from the Tower

When I went to Malaysia with my cousins,my mum and my sister, one of them, Jet was an aspiring photographer.  One of the highlights of his trip was to take photo of the Petronas Tower which he did and he did an awesome job.  To be honest, it was difficult to take photo of the Petronas Tower without the proper lens and without people walking about.  We went 3 times - one in the morning on our first day as I remember, one when we just arrived at night and another occasion which I can't remember now.  :P  It was easy to go to Petronas as everyone knew where the Tower is.  Obtaining a ticket is a bit difficult.  The entrance to Petronas Tower is free but you gotta queue up early in the morning and you have to be in queue to get a ticket.  We successfully got ours on the first try and we enjoyed the short visit that we were allowed inside.

Paris, France

Eiffel Tower

When I was younger, I dreamt of travelling outside my country, The Philippines.  I was one of those people who are lucky enough not just to travel outside my country of residence but actually lived abroad.  Just like what I said in my previous post, I lived in the UK for 3 1/2 years.  It was one of the most fruitful years of my travel life and I won't trade it for anything.

Our trip to Paris was not something we planned.  Prior to recession, my old company used to organise trips abroad by bus.  Paris was the chosen country for 2007.  I wasn't controlling then so I let my mum do the organising, after all, she has been to Paris.  I was wrong!  She didn't plan anything!  Hahahaha!  As far as my Paris experience was concerned, I can only remember Sephora.  Our officemate can't stop talking about it and we only went to the shopping centres.  Good thing we were able to travel back in 2009 but that's a different story.

We only went as far as the Eiffel Tower and sight see through the bus.  It was worthy seeing the place inside the bus apart from the fact that I'm a filo and I love to take photo of everythingggggg.  Worst of all, we got lost along the way.  We can't figure out which Metro to use.  Mind you, we haven't go any plans.  Not even notes.  Two things we accomplished through our Paris trip, went up the Eiffel Tower and ate crepe.  :)  Oh, see the LV Flagship store so that's 3 things.  :)
